Taco Tuesday in Costa Mesa

Every Tuesday, Casa de Onda runs Tulum Tuesdays, our take on Taco Tuesday, on the open air patio on the second level of Triangle Square in Costa Mesa. Six tacos, $4 to $8, and four of them you cannot get here any other day of the week. Tuesday is also the only day we sell tacos a la carte, so you can build a plate across the whole list instead of picking one and wondering about the rest.

The patio is open air and under the palms, with the thatched roof bar at one end. It is the same room that runs brunch on the weekend and Onda After Dark on Friday and Saturday nights, just at a slower, easier tempo.

Four tacos you can only get on Tuesday

  • Ground beef, $4
  • Fish, $6
  • Sirloin, $7
  • Birria, $8

These four are not on the regular menu. They come off when Tuesday ends and they are back the following Tuesday.

Two menu tacos at Tuesday prices

  • Pork, $4 on Tuesdays. It is $10 the rest of the week.
  • Lobster, $8 on Tuesdays. It is $11 the rest of the week.

Tuesday is the only day we sell tacos a la carte

Every other day of the week our tacos come two to an order. On Tuesday they are a la carte, so you can order a single one of anything on the list. Order one of each if you like, which is rather the point of putting six of them on at once.

Onda Hour, our happy hour, also runs on Tuesday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, dine in and bar area only.

The DJ starts at 7

House and electronic on the patio from 7:00 pm. No cover and no ticket. Just turn up.

Tuesday hours

The kitchen opens at 11:00 am on Tuesday and stops at 10:00 pm. The bar and the patio carry on later.

Finding us, and where to park

Casa de Onda is on the second level of Triangle Square at 1870 Harbor Blvd, Costa Mesa, CA 92627, right at the end of the 55 Freeway as it heads toward Newport Beach. Parking is free in the seven level indoor structure, so there is no meter and no circling the block on a busy night.

All day Tuesday. The kitchen serves from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm, and the DJ starts at 7:00 pm.

How much are the tacos?

They run $4 to $8. Ground beef and pork are $4, fish is $6, sirloin is $7, and lobster and birria are $8 each.

Can I order tacos a la carte?

On Tuesday, yes. It is the only day we sell them a la carte. Every other day they come two to an order.

Do I need a reservation?

Walk ins are welcome. If you are bringing a group, book ahead.

Is there a cover charge for the DJ?

No cover.
